Giant Disco Pineapple DJ Booth

BRIEF

As part of W Hotel’s “normal gets you nowhere” campaign, the request was for us to build a highly pimped out DJ booth in the shape of a giant disco pineapple that could be transported to venues along the eastern seaboard, led by a drag queen troupe to entertain large crowds of people.

W Hotels wanted to make a bold statement and have a party while doing it.  A Big Kahuna brief if ever there was one!

Fat Noodle Dragon

Luke Managan’s new celebrity chef restaurant at Treasury Casino in Brisbane was to have a fantastical installation.  A dragon body snaking through the restaurant entry ceiling.   A true art collaboration between some passionate bespoke architectural suppliers.  Big Kahuna Imagineering’s brief was to create a scale maquette to facilitate resolution of the organic dragon form in the buildings’ existing geomtery.  We then built the 14-metre skeletal dragon frame for application of scales and a customised dolly track to suspend a linked train of  programmable LED sequencing modules.
